Resumen
HOFFMANN-ESTEVES, Hazel et al. Archaeological tourism proposal as a local development alternative in the Ejido Cuauhtémoc in Chihuahua, Mexico. Espacios [online]. 2025, vol.46, n.3, pp.389-400. Epub 18-Jul-2025. ISSN 0798-1015. https://doi.org/10.48082/espacios-a25v46n03p30.
This study proposes archaeological tourism in the Cueva de las Monas, a site with graphic-archaeological manifestations in the Cuauhtémoc ejido in Chihuahua (Mexico), as an alternative for local development. Through interviews and participatory observation, we analyzed how communities have generated autonomous forms of tourism, far from the official model. The proposal was to recognize and support these emerging initiatives, integrating principles of sustainability and inclusion, in order to conserve the heritage and improve the living conditions of the local population.
