This study proposes an Integrated Model for Technology Adoption in Agriculture (MIATA), highlighting the importance of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things. Validated in cacao production in El Oro, Ecuador, results show a low level of technology adoption, with limited use of digital tools and a persistence of traditional practices. The main barriers identified include high costs, lack of technical training, and limited institutional support, which hinder the modernization of the agricultural sector.
