Strategies for staff retention and its relationship with the motivation of public employees in Ecuador. The relationship between staff retention strategies and employee motivation at the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Portoviejo Canton in Ecuador is analyzed. The study was descriptive-correlational, with two Likert-scale questionnaires administered. A moderate and statistically significant positive correlation was determined between the variables at the institution studied. This suggests that as staff retention strategies improve at the Portoviejo Autonomous Government, employee motivation tends to increase.
