Artificial intelligence in higher education holds great potential for managing academic processes and optimizing resources. However, in high Andean and rural areas, it faces significant barriers. A qualitative study with thirty university professors from public and private institutions in Puno revealed that the implementation of this technology is limited by a lack of infrastructure, teacher training, and access to devices and the internet. Additionally, personalized learning faces cultural and linguistic challenges, further exacerbating educational inequalities.
