This qualitative study analyzes the beliefs about the profession in future teachers of Special Education Pedagogy at the Catholic University of Temuco. Gaps are identified between theoretical training and actual practice, needs in emotional support, co-teaching and preparation for diverse contexts. The findings show the importance of strengthening the graduate profile and coherently articulating the training with the current challenges of inclusive education.
