This study evaluated the impact of ICT appropriation for strengthening cognitive skills in high school students. A pre-experimental design was employed with an applicative scope, as it evidenced changes in educational practice, and an explanatory scope, by analyzing the causal relationship between both variables. Through surveys and observations, a significant improvement was confirmed (d = 0.678), explaining 48.9% of the variability through students’ use and appropriation of ICT for cognitive skill development.
