The study analyzes the impact of augmented reality on improving reading performance in basic education through a literature review of research published between 2019 and 2025 in SciELO, Dialnet, and Scopus. The results show that this technology enhances students’ motivation, comprehension, and engagement, generating multisensory and inclusive learning experiences. Likewise, its effectiveness depends on pedagogical planning, technological accessibility, and teacher training, establishing itself as an innovative tool in reading instruction.
