This article analyzes changes in the structure of agricultural production in the state of Paraná (Brazil) during the period 1980-2020 using the shift-share method. Crop growth is decomposed into area effects (scale and substitution), yield, and geographic location. The results indicate a reallocation of land among crops, with the expansion of soybean and sugarcane and the contraction of traditional activities, as well as yield gains associated with specialization, production intensification, and the spatial reconfiguration of the state's agriculture, contributing to the debate on structural transformation and regional development.
