The problem of wisdom is a central topic in Luis Vives’ Work. The first part of this article analyses the importance of this subject and its main characteristics. Vives appears to us as a independent and free humanist who gives attention firstly to the problem of truth, in dialogue with the classical and Christian tradition, and at the same time with his own epoch.
