The Wittgensteinian “grammatical investigations” present a very particular contribution to the discussion on the experience and conceptualization of time. Based on a distinction between the conceptual manifestations of two essentially different ways of recording empirical reality (the language of “immediate experience” and “physical” language), Wittgenstein’s considerations on that matter lead to the idea that we handle as well two kinds of temporal recording and, consequently, two manners of relating time and memory. This paper seeks to clarify that peculiar conception, which points to a splitting of temporality into what Wittgenstein calls “memory-time” and “information-time”, connected by virtue of a double dimensionality of the “present moment”.
