Benito Jerónimo Feijoo (1676-1764) was one of the authors who, since the XVI century, voiced critiques against the current teaching of classical logic. In this article many of the arguments stated by Feijoo against traditional logic are examined; some of these can be better explained after reviewing the works of the Novohispanic thinker Tomás de Mercado (15?-1575). Feijoo statements, which are akin or related to nowadays critiques to logic are here outlined.
