Resumen

QUINTANILLA, Pablo. Wittgenstein and the Autonomy of Will: The Presence of Pragmatism. RF [online]. 2007, vol.25, n.56, pp.67-104. ISSN 0798-1171.

This paper aims to discuss the Wittgensteinian analysis of free will in order to show its roots in classical pragmatism. These roots can be found fundamentally in the conception of the will that William James elaborates in his Principles of Psychology. It also intends to show that the Wittgensteinian intuitions, which are based on pragmatist conceptions, lead to what is usually called the double aspect theory. Finally, the paper attempts to formulate the double aspect theory in a way that might help to clarify the problem of free will.

Palabras clave : Wittgenstein; will; autonomy; pragmatism.
