Laureano Vallenilla Lanz is one of the most influential intellectuals from Venezuela at the end of 19th and beginning of the 20^th centuries. He belongs to the generation of theorists who were nourished fundamentally by positivist doctrine and made of it a tool for developing the interpretation of our reality in order to build a stable and prosperous nation. The ideas guiding the present examination gather their posture before history, the individual and society, religion, education, centralism, war and peace.
