The text presents a classification of the principal popular social movements in Latin America and approaches problems of the axis of diversity, identity and their interrelationship. Some current problems are analyzed on the new scene and in regional political territory marked by post-neoliberal policies and the emergence of popular social movements opposed to the exclusive, patriarchal, discriminatory, predatory civilization of capital.
