GUTIERREZ-GOMEZ, Edgar; AUCCATOMA-TINCO, Roly; QUISPE-ONCEBAY, Sheyla y OLARTE-DAVALOS, Karen Tatiana. The political dimension in the preservation of the sacred in Andean rituals. Cuest. Pol. The present research aims to describe how the ritual of preservation of the sacred establishes a link between human beings and natural elements in some Peruvian communities, functioning as a form of political protection in the Andean cosmovision. The methodology used included participant observation, unstructured interviews and participation in various ritual ceremonies carried out by parishioners. This millenary practice, which maintains a deep connection with nature, has endured over time and generates opportunities for tourism. It is concluded that Pagapu is a ritual that reflects a relationship of ancestral interdependence, promoting reciprocal care that acts as an Andean policy in the face of the threat that human beings represent to nature, and vice versa.
