It has been demonstrated that the properties of reservoir rocks and the fluids contained in their interior are related to their geomechanical parameters. In this study, the relationship between the elastic and acoustic parameters of the rocks was obtained by means of the velocity of the compressional wave (VP), the velocity of the shear wave (VS) and the density (r) as result of well log analysis. As a result, it is shown that the previously mentioned parameters have to be taken as a whole and not separately in order to classify the studied lithology. However, two of the studied parameters can be used to indicate the differences between lithologies, through correlated graphics but not to discriminate the content of fluids in the sands.
