Resumen
HUGO SATURNO, B. Calculation of the stress in the reinforcement ring of the ring-girder type support for steel pipelines.. Rev. Fac. Ing. UCV [online]. 2007, vol.22, n.2, pp.73-81. ISSN 0798-4065.
Frequently, steel pipes are installed above ground resting on supports and in such a way that the pipes could act or behave structurally as a continuous beam, if it is completely filled and if its cylindrical shape remains in the span and in the support. Schorer (1933), recommends a type of support that has a cylindrically-shaped ring-girder soldered around the external surface of the pipe. The relations that are used to determine the appropriate dimensions of the beam are presented along with equations by means of which stresses are estimated if the eccentricity of the forces that are transmitted to the pipe by the column´s support is 4% of R. In this work, the equations of bending moment, tangential force and shear force and graphics were analyzed and equations were prepared to obtain undimensional coefficients in any transversal section of the beam for values of eccentricity ranging between 0% and 22% of R. Though the corresponding coefficient values of the moment and the forces in any section of the beam are obtained, as well as the maximum values they reach. An illustrative sample is included.
