Abstract

ARTEAGA-ARISPE, Jhonnathan  and  GUEVARA-JORDAN, Juan M. New conservative numerical scheme for heat diffusion in two-dimensional non-homogeneous medium. Rev. Fac. Ing. UCV [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.2, pp.17-25. ISSN 0798-4065.

A new numerical conservative scheme formulation and its application to the 2D transient heat equation is presented. The evaluation of the method and its comparison with the standard finite difference method are analyzed. The results show the advantages of the new method, in particular for those physical problems where the boundary conditions are very important for an accurate numerical solution approximation.

Keywords : Mimetic methods; Finite differences methods; Conservative methods; Heat equation; Boundary layer.
