Abstract
HENRIQUEZ, Yurgenis et al. Synthesis and characterization of iron oxide nanoparticles supported on pvp and silica. Rev. Fac. Ing. UCV [online]. 2008, vol.23, n.4, pp.29-35. ISSN 0798-4065.
In this work we report the syntheses of iron oxide nanoparticles (ferrihydrite) stabilized on silica and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), [FexOy/SiO2] and [FexOy/PVP], from the hydrolysis of FeCl3.6H2O with NH4OH. Both systems were characterized by ICP-OES, HRTEM, MET, Mössbauer and XPS. The mean particle size for the [FexOy/SiO2] system was 1,7nm whereas for the [FexOy/PVP] it was between 2 and 3nm showing narrow size distribution.
Keywords : Nanostructured iron oxides; Iron oxides nanoparticles; Iron oxides; PVP.
