This article shows the result of a research oriented to the specific characteristics of inventory management within Venezuelan environment in manufacturing and retail sectors. A sample is used to explore and describe the way how inventory management is performed. The intention of this work is exploratory and descriptive and allows us to make a first approach regarding the best practices carried out and having a better understanding about the Venezuelan approach and future opportunities for improvements
