Abstract

PINTO-CASTILLA, SUSANA; BETANCOURT, PAULINO; LANDAETA, JAVIER  and  D'ONOFRIO, LISSETA. SYNTHESIS AND ELECTRONIC CHARACTERIZATION OF IRON II ORGANOMETALLIC POLYMERS. Rev. Fac. Ing. UCV [online]. 2012, vol.27, n.3, pp.105-112. ISSN 0798-4065.

Bayer synthesis has been modified to produce a series of iron (II) organometallic polymers, showing the spin-crossover phenomenon at low temperature, using 4-octadecyl-1,2,4-triazole and 4-hexadecyl-1, 2.4-triazole as bridging ligands. It was used a method of thin layer chromatography to monitor the synthesis of 4-R-1,2,4-triazole, which is selective for nitrogen aromatic rings and Mössbauer spectroscopy in order to shows the formation of iron (II) organometallic polymers in high and low spin.

Keywords : Spin-crossover; 4-R-1,2,4-triazole; Thin-layer chromatography; Polynuclear compounds; Iron (II); Mössbauer spectroscopy.
