Abstract
NAKANDAKARI, Jorge and RIVERO, Rafael. Design of an electronic single-phase energy meter with ethernet communication. Rev. Fac. Ing. UCV [online]. 2013, vol.28, n.1, pp.65-72. ISSN 0798-4065.
In this work, an electronic single-phase energy meter able to calculate different values, such as: active energy, reactive energy, apparent energy, voltage, current and power factor, was designed. To determine the active energy, voltage and current values, the energy meter was designed conforming to COVENIN 3222:2003 Venezuelan standard. Automated Meter Reading (AMR) concept was used for data transmission into an Ethernet standard platform using several energy meters connected through a RS-485 bus port. The obtained data is processed and analyzed in order to understand the electricity consumption patterns of each user. Considering the Quality of Service (QoS) standards, this work becomes more relevant to be applied to support electric utility companies to guaranty better QoS.
