Abstract
GAMEZ, Brizeida; OJEDA, David and BLANCO, Richard. Ostheosynthesis device desing using elastostatics numerical analysis. Rev. Fac. Ing. UCV [online]. 2013, vol.28, n.4, pp.65-72. ISSN 0798-4065.
The design of a Dynamic Compression Plate (DCP) used for the forearm bone fracture reduction is presented. For this propose, the stress distribution on the plate is evaluated for various load conditions, such as compression, bending, and torsion, using a tool based on the Finite Element Method (FEM), specifically ABAQUS version 6.8. The results obtained from the model reflect the most critical states produced by the effect of the bending moment and torque. Subsequently, a test experimental is carried out employing compression load applied to a pattern plate-bar-screws through the testing machine GALDABINI 34/M, verifiying the stresses concentration around the holes of the plate and the some contact areas between the bone and plate. Finally, is compared the behavior of the plate with the numerical results, validating the loading conditions for which the device is designed ostheosynthesis.
