The process for the formulation of a Plan of Integral Solid Waste Management in Bolivarian State of Miranda - EBM is described. This plan conceived as a tool to support the management of the solid waste at the municipal level, is based on identifying and exploiting opportunities for synergies to achieve environmental and social improvements derived from the integrated and sustainable management of this downloads in the entity. This Plan is the result of an intense interactive and participatory work with representatives of several stakeholders involved that allowed articulate policies, strategies, programs and projects that define guidelines for to help local authorities develop their respective municipal plans tailored to their technical, economic, environmental reality and social, based on a systemic view of the territory and service, incorporating the participation, consensus and social responsibility, based on political support, institutional strengthening, legal adequacy and seeking financial sustainability. The structure of the Plan is supported by 8 programs and 36 projects to be implemented, given the characteristics of the situation in this matter in the EBM, over the next six years, with the commitment of all actors involved in the solid waste sector specially: environmental and executive authorities at different levels of government, generators, service providers, and formal and informal enterprising of the recovery and recycling of materials. To carry out the Plan is required an investment about US $ 23,340,000.
