In this essay we show the notions about tolerance as public and political virtues, product of new thinking and philosophical interpretations by Carlos Thiebaut and Michael Walzer. Both authors debate the concept of "tolerance" as a fundamental value of modern societies, culturaly diverse, wich requires new and innovative approaches to meet the challenges of political practice. This is where tolerance plays a key role.
