Resumen

OJEDA, Jesús. Singularities and contradictions in liberal solidarity of Richard Rorty. EPISTEME [online]. 2013, vol.33, n.2, pp.45-64. ISSN 0798-4324.

Richard Rorty has put in the public and academic debates a new and controversial proposal aimed to both liberal solidarity decreasing cruelty in the social and institutional environment as the inclusion in the “circle of we” of people living in social or cultural ‘marginality’. Solidarity is further characterized as a public liberal dimension to show regardless of the private sphere marked irony by self-creation. Rorty’s proposal will be presented in this article from the perspective of its facticity and argumentative thickness.

Palabras clave : solidarity; irony; cruelty.
