Resumen
CISNEROS, María Eugenia. Bakunin and Pettit: in defense of freedom as «non-domination». EPISTEME [online]. 2015, vol.35, n.2, pp.1-20. ISSN 0798-4324.
In this paper I analyze the thesis developed by Philip Pettit on liberty as non-domination as a continuity of the ideas already set out by Mijail Bakunin in his work Liberty. Given such possibility, I consider that Pettit´s contribution consists on proposing the needed institutions to a juridical-political order aimed at fostering liberty against both arbitrary domination and coactions. In this conception I find a specific political use of Bakunin’s political thought on liberty as non-domination, based on each individual exercising his own capacity to self liberation over his condition as a social product; it is to say, his or her power to resist either the historical social domination or the power of State.
Palabras clave : liberty as non-domination; power; institution.
