SUMMARY Management under traditional production system were selected twenty two goats at postpartum from two farms located in Los Ranchos, Lara State, Venezuela, to evaluate the productive performance (body weight, body condition, milk production and hematocrit blood levels) due to supplementation of a feeding mixture. It was used a totally randomized design and the data were analyzed by a T-test. The goats were assigned to two groups: Control, grazing traditional vegetation, and Experimental, grazing the traditional vegetation plus 50 g/an/d of a supplement. This supplement consisted of (%): corn (50), molasses (30), minerals (15) and ammonium sulphate (5). The body weight variation, body condition and hematocrit level of goats postpartum, were not different during the 60 days of this trial. Hematocrit increased significantly (P<0.05), in both group sixty days postpartum. Milk production showed a highly significant increase (16%) when the goats were supplemented.
