Porcine gastrointestinal parasitism and ectoparasitism are limiting diseases on pig production worldwide, increase production cost due to implementation of control programs and visceral confiscation at the slaughterhouse. To obtain prevalence values of ectoparasites and endoparasites (Ascaris suum, coccidias, and strongyles) in pregnant and weaning sows under four management systems, it was carried out the present study. A total of 64 line sows (Camborough 22 line), with similar age and weight, were randomly set out in four management systems (1: cage, 2: farmyard, 3: deep bedding, and 4: outdoor). Twenty (five for each system) feces samples were taken (through rectum) monthly during five months and studied by the Mc Master technique. For the ectoparasite diagnosis, all animals in each system were evaluated by visual inspection and parasitic specimens were collected. Endoparasite infections media prevalence values for A. suum and coccidias were 0, 4, 8.3, 0% and 20.8, 40, 41.7, 54.2% for system 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Only strongyles infections in system 1 (4.2%) were observed. There were statistical differences among coccidia infections by system (P<0.05). The observed ectoparasites were Cochliomyia hominivorax (miiasis), Musca domestica, and Tabanidae. There were differences among miiasis prevalence by system (P<0.05).
