The review its related to the taxonomy, ecology, origin and distribution, main species and uses of Mullberry (Morus spp.). Some representative results obtained in recent decades, mainly in the agronomy, phytochemistry and animal production, considering its potential as a forage species are presented. Additionally, issues related to the main investigated topics and some areas of knowledge which should be further studied in the coming years are discussed
