CASSOL PIRES, Cleber et al. Production, quality and performance of parties of lamb milk simple and double in pasture of ryegrass. Zootecnia Trop. [online]. 2012, vol.30, n.2, pp.125-133. ISSN 0798-7269.

Seeking greater effi ciency in the production of lamb cut, a good yield from sheep’s milk is essential in the fi rst weeks of life as the only source of nutrients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of delivery type and stage of lactation performance of ewes and lambs, and the quantity and quality of milk. The experiment was conducted in 2008, the Laboratory of Sheep Federal University of Santa Maria. A total of 12 sheep Texel and Ile de France, the experimental design was completely randomized design with treatments arranged in a factorial (2x5), two types of delivery (single and double) and fi ve stages of lactation (7, 14, 21, 28 and 35 days after the birth of lambs), with six replicates. There was no signifi cant interaction between the factors type of delivery and stage of lactation for all variables. There was no signifi cant interaction between the factors type of delivery and stage of lactation for all variables. The average daily gain of lambs, was superior to double, but both tended to decrease with the advance of lactation. Sheep birth had single and double production and milk composition similar, but only sheep feeding a lamb with better body condition and average daily gain. There was no defi ned peak of lactation and milk composition did not vary by stage of lactation
