Abstract

TORRES, Delci. Reconstrucción socio-semiótica de la discursivización del ritual la tumba. Boletin de Linguistica [online]. 2007, vol.19, n.27, pp.115-132. ISSN 0798-9709.

Texts can no longer be considered isolated from the productivity involved in creating meaning within the intertextual reconstruction processgenerated in the enunciation act. The funeral ritual of the tomb refers to specificdeath related practices, an elaborate symbiotic code which constitutes the funerary monument the tomb. We suggest that people from Merida construct a social reality about death, resulting from a mixed race culture in whichsacred elements of indigenous origin are syncretized with our catholic culture so as to weave a social semiosis of death, which gives way to the semiotics of life by celebrating these funeral practices.

Keywords : funerary rite; syncretism; tomb.
