Abstract
SERRADAS FONSECA, Marian. New technologies as a resource in the education of hospitalized children: Tele-education for hospital classrooms. Rev. Ped [online]. 2004, vol.25, n.74, pp.503-524. ISSN 0798-9792.
This article reviews diverse aspects of the different possibilities for application of the new information and communication technologies. Its fundamental thesis is that the new technologies can be used as a communication channel since they are a powerful medium for carrying out learning tasks, thus allowing our society to progress enormously. To give shape to this idea we have begun by describing the application of the new technologies in Special Education, and then reviewing the Tele-education Project for Hospital Classrooms developed in Spain, as well as the main initiatives regarding telematic experiences in European and American hospitals, ending with a reference to the new challenges of educational communication.
Keywords : New Communication and Information Technologies; Tele-education Project for Hospital Classrooms; educational communication.
