The main aim of this study was to determine the perceptions and attitudes of full-time tenured teaching staff in a traditional Venezuelan public university in terms of the inclusion of Distance Learning (DL) with the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to be formally offered by the institution. The study was descriptive and the methodology was based on quantitative methods. The attitudes of the teaching staff towards Distance Learning and the use of ICT were collected and then subjected to analysis through a variety of techniques such as content analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and the variance (unidirectional and factorial) of the gathered data. The results obtained were the following: the identification of existing attitudes and the comparison between the identified attitudes on the basis of the determinant factors of the same, such as previous experience, level of knowledge on Distance Learning and sources of information on the topic, among others.
