The digital divide reflects the inequality of opportunities in terms of access to information, knowledge and education through ICT. Education is undoubtedly one of the fundamental ways to narrow this gap. We cannot fall, however, neither in the extremes of the technophiles who make exaggerated claims as to the possibilities of ICT in reducing social differences, nor that of the technophobes who categorically deny that such possibilities exist. We have to adopt a critical perspective and an objective attitude when it comes to incorporating ICT in education. Thus, our interest is in a line of research that centers itself on the incorporation of ICT in elementary education. The choice of this level of education is due to its universality and obligatory nature and that it is probably the level that finally has to become responsible for the new literacy of the twenty-first century. This is nothing more than a point of departure and we invite all those who wish to take this route to join us.
