ACOSTA, Felicitas. Reconfiguration of the secondary school faced with massive entry of students from poor sectors. Rev. Ped [online]. 2009, vol.30, n.87, pp.217-246. ISSN 0798-9792.
This study discusses the reconfiguration of the modern secondary school and its impact on the schooling of new sectors that accede to this level. It involves a case study of two secondary schools in poor districts in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The aim is to compare the organization of the traditional middle school model and the setup of the two chosen institutions through a comparative historical methodology. This type of analysis allows us to see what actually occurs with the organization of the schools (what is «new», what is «traditional», what «works», what «does not work») in relation to the image of the traditional school and the grammar of the school. In this way, it offers a view that allows us to think of the school as a kind of interaction between the new and the old, between tradition and change, with an end to answer the current challenge of achieving successful schools for all the young
