CISNEROS, Elizabeth y BARRIENTOS CH, Yolanda. Annual fluctuations on temperature, salinity, pH and total alkalinity at surface waters of Isla Larga, Carabobo state, Venezuela.. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2008, vol.32, n.63, pp.153-172. ISSN 1010-2914.
The leeward coast of Isla Larga is a recient sedimentary environment and it is located at the National Park Miguel José Sanz (Carabobo state, Venezuela). The main objective of this research was to characterize the fluctuations in some physical and chemical water parameters such as temperature, salinity, pH y total alkalinity in surface waters taking into account the dominant hydrological and hydrodynamics local conditions. This research was carried out during the period february 1994 until may 1995. The lowest water temperature of 27°C; pH 7,1-7,8; salinities between 38-37; total alkalinity of 109-187 mgCaC03/L were obtained during may 1994 and January 1995 respectively. This data suggested local upwelling during the first months of the year at Golfo Triste platform.
