The purpose is the development of software to satisfy needs in the computing area at the Unidad Educativa Privada Instituto Filodidáctico, to develop teaching skills in using the computer and to optimize the use of a multimedia classroom during the teaching learning process. The population was of 12 teachers of the III level of basic education of the institute. The need analysis showed that the tools and innovation in the area of computing must be applied in the teaching learning process because the problem was the lack of knowledge about how to use the computer. The model of instructional development (Szczurek, 1990) framed the methodology considering four steps: (a) needs assessment; (b)solution design; (c) solution implementation; (d) evaluation. For the need analysis it was considered the observation, interview and survey techniques. At the solution design phase it was produced an instructional material in a CDROM format it was evaluated using the model of Moreno Martinez (1994). For the implementation was presented a plan which considered the human, economic and logistic resources and material needed and at last step it was evaluated the transference of generic and specific skills acquired for the teachers while the implementation in order to make evident the achievement of the teachers.
