The objective of this paper is to show the environmental characterization of Los Totumos- Bahia de Buche, located on the coastal zone of Miranda State (Venezuela), from two perspectives: natural and socio-cultural. A descriptive research was conducted by five steps: study area delimitation, instrument construction and validation which were applied for diagnostic, followed by data analysis and the descriptions of some options to solve environmental problems detected. The main problems were deterioration and contamination of natural resources, very low level of education and environmental consciousness, inappropriate management of solid waste, between others. As a contribution for solving the problems and improving the population quality of life was designed a strategic plan of five action lines.
