The purpose was interpret the students testimony from Geography subject area of the UPEÑ-IPC". It is about fieldwork as a teaching strategy and the value given to the learning obtained by the students. Is a qualitative interpretative research, it is used in-depth interviewing technique also the constant comparative method; from its application emerge 19 subcategories, these are reduced to three types of higher order perceptions. Finally, the central category emerges. The research findings indicate that the fieldwork experience has pedagogical implications when used as a strategy for teaching and learning because it requires an action plan, a sequence of activities planned to reach a goal. It is also known, implemented and controlled by the students; thus, stimulating their intrinsic motivation and being favourable to significant learning which reflects the four pillars of education.
