The purpose of the study is consider the habits of automedicación between students of the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas. Studies report that the automedicación has been present in the solution to the health-disease problems from the beginnings of the humanity. Nevertheless, this one use by own wil, supposes a sanitary act that it has been able to cause damages but for of reflective form and with the basic knowledge. The study is of descriptive type. The sample was 240 students of diverse specialties y the data collection a questionnaire. The results indicate: (a) a high percentage practices the automedicación irresponsible, (b) consume from vitamins to antibiotics, without prescription, (c) do not know physiological reactions like adverse events, (d) indifferently use synthetic and natural medecines, (e) recognize EA implications, but they create to be enabled to handle its health, when one is little important autocatalogados processes.
