The purpose was to clarify the sedimentary characteristics of the deposit of beach and identify geomorphologic processes involved in its formation. The phases were: (a) field, collecting samples of surface sediments in the area of the berm and swash zone, (b) physical analysis (size and morphology of the grains) and chemical (% CaCO3, pH, conductivity and mineral fraction and (c) office or statistical analysis. The beach is made up of particles of the size of medium sand, with lots averaging> 65% CaCO3, 30 to 35% light mineral and ~ 2% of undifferentiated heavy minerals, sediment is alkaline, moderately saline and poorly selected, sub-angular morphometrically to rounded. It is assumed that the main source of origin of the material is on the banks near the bay reef, eroded and transported into the bay by the surf, in conditions of perturbation.
