Resumen

ANGULO CALZADILLA, Gabriela. The concepts of the teacher or different ways of conceiving the practice of teaching. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2012, vol.36, n.75, pp.11-31. ISSN 1010-2914.

Research was conducted to explore different teacher’s perspectives. First, it focus on the review of Freire’s thinking about teacher knowledge and the three conceptions of teaching raised by Contreras. We also review authors like Carr and Kemmis, Grundy, Perez Gomez and Giroux; finding common grounds among them. Conclusions follows as: (a) Freire’s knowledge of teaching emerged from humanist and liberating educational practice, (b) teachers’ conceptions presented by Contreras and others have been developed from a theoretical approach, (c) with different denominations theorists agree on the existence of three conceptions of teaching: technical expert, reflexive practitioner and critical intellectual, (d) there are consensus along teachers’ conceptions reported by some authors and what Habermas refers to as knowledge of knowledge guiding
