Resumen
MARCANO MONTILLA, Arismar y CARTAYA RIOS, Scarlet. Analysis the spatial distribution of the mass movements susceptibility, used Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in the drainage catchments the San Julian River, Vargas state, Venezuela. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2012, vol.36, n.75, pp.67-88. ISSN 1010-2914.
The objective was to analyze the spatial distribution of susceptibility to mass movement(MRM) in the basin of the Rio San Julian. Research type-explanatory-correlational, quasi-experimental, heuristic-based method, using MapInfoGIS tool, univariateand multivariategeo-statistical analysis, and method of Analytical Hierarchy Process(MJA) of Multicriteria Evaluation(EMC) for specified weighted susceptibility maps andfinalsusceptibility. Analysis of variables allows us to recognize that the basinhas 95% of the area classified asVery High, High susceptibility to MRM, where units converge lithology as Tacagua Shale and Peña de Mora, steep slopes(above 20)slopes rock, coinciding with the spatial distribution of landslides mapped post-event by 99%, generating a reliability of over 90%model. This point to the likelihood of new patient, so you must develop management plan soflocal risks
