Resumen
TOLEDO, Marlene et al. Design and implementation of a photosynthesis laboratory to students of cellular biology of the IPC-UPEL. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2012, vol.36, n.76, pp.75-96. ISSN 1010-2914.
Photosynthesis involves two groups of reactions: one group includes the light-dependent reactions. The main objective of this activity is to design an experiment to allow quantification of the process. The methodology is adapted from Hall, D. and Hawkins, S. (1975) and Hall and Rao (1972), which is based on Hills reaction which uses 2.6 dinitrophenolindophenol as a reducing agent. The laboratory includes: 1) Isolation of chloroplasts, 2) Observation of chloroplasts and 3) Effect of some variables in the photosynthetic activity. The activity has been applied for several semesters to students of Cell Biology, a course that corresponds to the Biology program at the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas (UPEL). Having analyzed the results of implementation, it was observed that students consider this activity necessary to complement the theory and that the motivation produced encourages them to cooperative and individual learning; all point to the desirability of continuing to apply this activity.
