Resumo

This study aims at identifying knowledge and dilemmas as evidenced in a focus group of 25 young people (12-14 years old), who study sixth grade in the school Unidad Educativa Nacional Bolivariana José Antonio González. The research paradigm corresponds to that of the interpretative qualitative hermeneutic kind. The qualitative research methodology was design in phases and as teaching mediation. It also included educational principles of Brunner of Vigotsky and those of Ausubel. Dilemma Analysis and Love Pedagogy. The information gained through maps built by the participants in the study was discussed individually and in groups; video of the topic was projected, all within the administration of a course in Teenage Pregnancy Prevention. Evidence gained during the discussions were around family problems as having a direct influence in early pregnancy ,need of more information about AIDS, HIV and HPV. Also themes in relation to sexual identity and how to overcome sexual problems in order to fulfill life goals projects were identified. There was evidence of various students misconceptions such as those related to sexual infections diseases. The results: implementing novel didactic methodologies, educators can empower the learners to provide appropriate educational answers that match the context of complex situations like the ones caused by teenage pregnancy.
