The purpose was the analysis of the representation of the game in the painting of Antonio Lazo from a Gadamerian hermeneutic point of view (1975/1984). The specific objectives: Clarify the game as the creative attitude in the artist, and study the playing-expression of his art work: Warrior on Horseback II (1989) and Horse and Rider Head (1989). Documentary study was made of the artistic production of Lazo in the decade of the nineties, to select the artwork for research; then, the analysis of the selected artwork was made with the purpose of determinate the Recreational - expressive variants in the artwork. The importance of this research rest in the profunditation of the theoretical elements that explains the Venezuelan artistic production and amplifies its critic horizon. The artwork of Antonio Lazo comprises an important reference of great iconographic value for the national culture.
