RAMIREZ ALVAREZ, Maikel y RAMIREZ DIAZ, Ana María. Metaphors and metonymies of the informer in six venezuelan everyday language expressions. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2013, vol.37, n.79, pp.69-84. ISSN 1010-2914.
The objective was analyzing the conceptual metaphors which represent (the) informer (a) in the Venezuelan daily speech. Theoretically, based on theoretical precepts cognitive linguistics, metaphor, metonymy and prototypicality proposed by Cuenca and Hilferty (1999), Pinker (2007), Lakoff and Johnson (2009), among others. As for the body, constituted six metaphorical expressions, drawn from blogs, dictionaries and newspaper articles. As a result, it is mentioned that the Spanish speakers of Venezuela metaforizan the act of betraying in two ways: the ontological and orientational. In conclusion, the speakers use metaphorical expressions because they believe the informer as someone with socially accepted behavior. Which leads to manifest their mental representations through metaphorical expressions that reduce the individual to a body part.
