Within the field of education Mathematic, there is a tendency to consider problem solving as a strategy for learning math skills. There for this articles to describe the difficulties associated with verbal statement a additive problems presented by students of the first three primary school grades in Venezuela, based on documentary research, supported on a bibliographic design of descriptive level, where information is obtained through the analysis of written content from different sources. The main findings are related to the fact that the mental abilities of students and linguistic factors present in the statement can influence the verbal arithmetic problem solving additives. In conclusion, the difficulties may be related to the subject who solves or cognitive factors and language of the text of the statement.
