MORENO, Niorkalys. Geomorphological and sedimentological study of Macama Bay, Falcón state. Revista de Investigación [online]. 2013, vol.37, n.80, pp.165-188. ISSN 1010-2914.

The purpose was analyze the geomorphological and sedimentological characteristics of Macama bay, from the collection of sediment samples and  photographic  record  in  field.  The  samples  underwent  physical analysis (granulometry and morphology) and chemist (content of calcium carbonate). The results indicate that it is a storage environment represented by beach, with an area of approximately 2.8 kilometers by 16.64 meters. Sedimentological analysis indicates that the reservoir is formed by median sand particles with predominance toward fine sands, well chosen, worn or subangular grains and constituted 65% of CaCO3. It is an environment with an active process of sedimentation, favored by the littoral drift and by the topographic conditions, providing circumstances for the development of the beach on the inside of the projection by refraction effect the surf.
